A cracking weekend at Burgie…

We were greeted with blazing sunshine, perfect ground and a lovely warm welcome from the Lochore family. Burgie is where I caught the bug for Eventing and spent many happy days training when at Pony Club and then as a working pupil when into Juniors. (more…)

Hexham, A great weekend!

Trig Point, photo by Photo SynergyThe team has just returned from a fantastic weekend at Hexham Horse Trials, which is another of our fairly local events, being only 1 1/2 hrs away. The first day was blazing sunshine, the second not so good but luckily for us we were over and done with nice an early so didn’t get the soaking many others suffered. The horses were on great form and it was so nice to be able to go well for my Owners who all invest so much money into keeping the show on the road. On days like these we remember just why we all work 19 hour days and battle through the 4 foot snow drifts…

Floors Castle.. in a heat wave

It was a shock to the system to suddenly be riding in temps into the 20’s but for spectators and supporters it was a great chance to work on the tan and overdose on ice creams!  (more…)

Inishmhor, Bramham 2010, photo by Fiona Scott- MaxwellWe had a somewhat fraught start to the morning when loaded and ready to go at 5.30 am, I jumped in to start up the truck and it was absolutely as dead as a do do… After much cursing (on my behalf mostly, as it was yours truly who had forgotten to turn of the isolator switch for the batteries) we tried starting the generator and plugging into the mains but got no joy whatsoever.
